Shakti - Divine Energy

In Hinduism, Shakti is the primordial cosmic energy responsible for the creation, maintenance and destruction of the universe. It's very powerful and can have a positive or negative impact, depending on how you channel it. It's often identified as divine feminine energy because Shakti is thought to have created or given birth to the universe in the same way mothers give birth to children.

In Vedic Astrology, the planet Mars represents Shakti (energy) and the stones related to this are red in colour, synonymous with fire. The best healing crystals to meditate with whilst chanting to this mantra are Red Coral, Red Jasper, and Red Tiger's Eye.

The lyrics and translation of the mantra are below the video:

Lakshmi Narayani Ma

The Sanskrit word Chakra first appeared in the Vedas, the most authoritative Hindu text, thousands of years ago. In Ayurveda, yoga and meditation chakras refer to wheels of energy in our body and the seven most important chakras start from the base of our spine and end at the crown of our head. When our chakras are blocked, we are more likely to suffer from illnesses. It is therefore in our interest to keep our chakras aligned and to ensure that our energy flows freely. Read our article What are Chakras and how do we align them? Read our article What's your Morning Mantra?
